Travelling with you will be a combination of 2 or 3 people - the exact combination depends on each park and the availability. Those people include:
A driver - you will of course always have a driver, some are simply drivers and some double as a guide.
A park guide - this is mandatory and they are more of a tracker or spotter from a local tribe. They have good local knowledge but may not speak good English.
A naturalist who is either provided by the lodge or arranged for you by our tour company. They explain about the flora and fauna and also help with spotting animals.
Sometimes when we have keen clients interested in mammals or birdwatchers on trips we are able to arrange specialist guides to accompanying them at an extra cost.
Morning drives start a bit earlier then sunrise as you need to get ready and drive from your hotel to the Park gate and be there before entry starts which is usually at sunrise. Timings vary but approximate time of wake-up call is around 4.30 or 5 am and the journey starts about 5.45 - 6 am so you are at the Park gate before sunrise.
As winters can be cold especially in the early morning, we suggest you ensure you have warm clothes with you for this adventure. Extra blankets are also provided.
Usually lodges serve a quick cup of tea/ coffee before the guests leave from the hotel. Morning safaris are a bit longer and can take anything between 3 to 4 hours.
Evening safaris start from the hotel around 2.30 to 2.45 pm and last for around 2 and a half to 3 hours.
You may have noticed in our itinerary that the Safari parks are closed on Wednesday afternoon and might have wondered how that would affect you if you are there on a Wednesday.
This is no problem as even if you are there on a Wednesday it has been arranged so there is still time to schedule in 6 wonderful Safaris which will certainly leave you very fulfilled.
Here is an example of how it could work with a Wednesday in the middle if for example you arrived in Jabalpur on Tuesday:
Tuesday – Arrive Jabalpur, drive to Kanha , Afternoon safari Wednesday – Morning safari – afternoon to relax ( no safari) Thursday – morning safari and drive to Bandhavgarh Friday – Morning and evening safari Saturday – Morning safari and then drive to Khajuraho
Whatever you decide to do and whatever day you arrive the schedule works beautifully and if we are lucky you will share some of your amazing photos with us afterwards!
