Alaska and Canada host some of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world. From the glaciers of the Inside Passage on the Alaskan coast to the beauty of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, this dream tour will have you in awe.

Your holiday starts with a coach tour through the beautiful Rocky Mountains to Seattle. Begin your tour in the iconic alpine resort town of Banff and travel by coach to Jasper and Kamloops. In each town we offer centrally located accommodation which our customers find very supportive. Continue on to Vancouver and Seattle, from where you join your cruise ship for an amazing 8 Day Cruise to Skagway and back. Have a wonderful time and marvel at the glaciers of the Inside Passage of Alaska.

International flights from Sydney or Melbourne are included in the price. A surcharge is payable from other cities and also if you make any changes to the dates of the flights. Day 1: Fly to Calgary and transfer to Banff

Depart from Sydney or Melbourne and fly to Calgary on a connecting flight via Los Angeles, San Francisco or Vancouver. Upon arrival, you will be greeted at the airport by your tour guide and transferred to the alpine resort town of Banff (1 hour 30 minute drive approximately).

The main thoroughfare in Banff is lined with boutiques and restaurants mixed with chateau-style hotels and souvenir shops. The surrounding 6,500 square kilometres of parkland are home to lots of wildlife including elk and grizzly bears.

Day 2: Discover the delights of Banff – Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, Johnston Canyon and more

Embark on a scenic road trip of the incredible Banff National Park along the Bow Valley Parkway between the iconic mountain resort towns of Banff and Lake Louise. Enjoy a ride on the Banff gondola, marvel at the glorious Moraine Lake with a panoramic view of the Valley of the Ten Peaks, followed by a leisurely hike to the Lower Falls of Johnston Canyon. Then stroll along the picturesque shores of Lake Louise, crowned as the “Jewel of the Rockies”. Conclude the day with a swift stop at Bow Falls before returning to Banff.

Day 3: Enjoy the natural wonder of Jasper National Park

Today’s highlight is a jaw-dropping road trip to Jasper National Park. Take in the world’s most scenic glaciers, lakes and mountain peaks as you traverse the Icefields Parkway passing by subalpine forests through to the immense Columbia Icefield. Here, embark on a glacier adventure ride aboard the massive Ice Explorer snow coach onto the surface of the Athabasca Glacier. Enjoy a short stop at the powerful waterfall of Athabasca Falls before heading into the beautiful alpine town of Jasper.

The drive from Banff to Jasper is 288km or approximately 3 hours 30 minutes without stopping, but you of course will be stopping and sight seeing along the way.

Day 4: Enjoy Mt Robson and travel to Kamloops

Step on the UNESCO World Heritage Site Mount Robson Provincial Park, home to the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies and recognised for its vast natural beauty and mountain landscapes containing rare species, peaks, glaciers, lakes, waterfalls, canyons, limestone caves and fossils. Then take off to Blue River for an exciting River Safari to the stunning Grizzly Bear Valley where you are likely to witness active wildlife on the riverbank. Arrive in Kamloops and spend the evening here.

The drive from Jasper to Kamloops is 441 kms.

Day 5: Enjoy Othello Tunnels, the town of Hope and journey to Vancouver 

Set out on a fun hike at Othello Tunnels, a series of old train tunnels and bridges that cut through the solid granite walls and pass over the wild Coquihalla River near the town of Hope. After lunch, enjoy a mini tour of the cosmopolitan metropolis Vancouver city, stopping by the bustling Granville Island Public Market, a food lover’s paradise, before reaching the coastal city of Richmond.

The drive from Kamloops to Vancouver is 354 kms.

Day 6: Travel to Seattle to begin your 7 night cruise

Bid farewell to beautiful Western Canada and cross the border into the United States of America through to the Port of Seattle to board your luxury week-long Inside Passage Cruise of Alaska’s undisturbed wildlife, rugged wilderness and jaw-dropping natural wonders.

Day 8: Cruise the Alaska Inside Passage and arrive in Juneau

Arrive at Juneau at 12pm, the capital of Alaska, founded during a gold rush in 1880. Today, the former gold-mining town counts among its riches some of Alaska's most spectacular scenery. Nestled at the foot of Mt Juneau in the Alaska Panhandle, it faces the water from the mainland side of Gastineau Channel. Several magnificent fjords are located along the channel coast and the majestic Mendenhall Glacier, a favourite of visitors, is nearby. Depart at 9pm.

Day 9: Step back in time in Skagway

Arrive in Skagway at 7am and relive the gold rush. The great Klondike Gold Rush lives on in Skagway’s charming city centre of restored 19th-century buildings and its historic railway. From the vintage train admire the mountains and see the 1898 trail that fortune seekers travelled on foot. Depart at 8.30pm.

Day 10: The magnificent Tracy Arm Fjord

Arriving at 7am, just South of Juneau lies the amazing Tracy Arm Fjord, carved by glacier activity. Among the sights to admire from the icy waters are the 900m (3,000-foot) waterfalls from the high granite walls. Depart at 12pm.

Day 11: At Sea

Enjoy the day at sea sailing through the calm waters of Alaska simply taking in the scenery or partaking in some of the many entertainments on offer on this cruise ship. Day 13: Explore Seattle

Disembark the cruise after an early breakfast. Begin your tour of “Emerald City” Seattle by heading downtown for a familiarisation drive, stopping at scenic overlooks as you pass by distinct neighbourhoods, some sitting high on hilltops, others afloat on calm waters. Explore the colourful Pike Place Market overlooking Elliot Bay, Seattle’s most popular tourist destination and home to a large variety of shops and restaurants with waterfront views. Scale the dazzling skyline from 520 feet at the Observation Deck of the iconic Space Needle. Gaze in awe of the amazing collection of full blown glass art and sculptures at popular Chihuly Garden and Glass.

Skagway, being further North is much cooler, with summer temperatures averaging 17°C and winter slightly below 0°C.

Banff, at such a high elevation in the Canadian Rockies has much cooler temperatures year round, with a chance of snow falling at any time in the year. In summer the temperatures have an average of 21°C (and the daylight can last till 11pm) and in winter they average an icy -12°C.

Seattle’s climate is classified as oceanic or temperate marine. In the summer months from June to August the temperatures average in the early 20’s °C and in winter can reach as low as 2°C.

    Upon purchase of your tour online you will immediately receive a receipt and order confirmation. Travelbay will contact the tour operator to confirm availability for all accommodation and transportation for your tour.

    As soon as we have confirmed the dates (usually within 24 hours sometimes a little longer at weekends) we will email you your booking confirmation.

    We will request further information from you to ensure that all your personal preferences are taken care. This will include details such as your accommodation preferences, dietary requests, allergies, health issues, emergency contact and any special requirements.

    We will also request a copy of each traveller’s passport so that we can organise and book all the flights that are listed as being included in the price of this tour.

    Very Important:

    It is important to note your dates are only confirmed once we have been in touch with you to confirm availability. Therefore, please wait on purchasing any supplementary flights or confirming arrangements until you have received a booking confirmation from us. In the unlikely event that there is no availability on your chosen date we will offer you alternate dates. If these do not suit we will fully refund your payment.

    • If you wish to have a stop over in Los Angeles, San Fransisco or Vancouver there is a surcharge of $350 per person per city stopover plus any fare difference. The fare difference will be calculated after you have booked your holiday and upon booking of the international flights. This is payable directly to the tour operator. These prices do not include accommodation or transfers. Please ask us about stop over packages. 
    • For the international flights there are interstate surcharges of AUD$300 per person for Brisbane, AUD$400 for Adelaide and AUD$650pp for Perth. Please note the interstate flights may be via Sydney.
    • Upgrades available to Delta Airlines/Air Canada from $275 and Qantas from $475. 
    • Upgrades to Premium Economy (from $5,000) and Business Class (from $7,500) are available. Please ask us for a quote. 
    • You will receive your cruise certificate from the tour operator 2 months prior to departure. Once you have this you can login and register your details with the cruise company. 3-4 weeks prior to departure you will receive the rest of your travel documentation.
